NEWFEST QUEER FILM FESTIVAL
NewFest is the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ film festival. But while the festival hasn’t changed much, the world around it has. In 2025, anti-queer rhetoric and legislation surged, making the simple act of living openly feel more radical than ever. So we took inspiration from Albert Camus’ quote that “the only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free your very existence becomes an act of rebellion”, and we turned a quote into a creative platform: Watching, living, enjoying queer art as an act of rebellion.
Every film. Every ticket. Every piece of merch. Every moment of the festival became an invitation and a small act of protest anyone could join. And they did! Our campaign helped ticket and merch sales soar 3x what they were the previous year.
