NewFest is the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ film festival and while the festival itself hasn’t changed much in recent years, the world in which it exists has. 2025 brought a barrage of anti-queer rhetoric and proposals, so we found inspiration in the famous Albert Camus quote: “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”
We turned a quote into a creative platform that made every part of the festival, every ticket, every film, every piece of merch, into a bold act of protest anyone could join.
